My First Time Backstage at Oscar de la Renta

This post wraps up my NYFW series from the February edition, and what a special one to end with.

Working backstage at Oscar de la Renta was an absolute dream come true!

I barely slept the night before. I had been looking forward to this show so much. When we arrived, we walked in through the back entrance of their New York City store, and as we made our way to the backstage area, we passed right through their inventory section. I walked by so many iconic dresses, I was literally pinching myself.

My younger self was cheering inside me with pride.

The backstage energy was intense. The Fall/Winter 2025 collection was absolutely stunning. If you're familiar with Oscar's work, you know how delicate the pieces are. Each one is a true work of art.

Because the show was hosted inside the store, the production team was smaller than usual, which meant we had to move even faster to make sure everything looked perfect, with fewer hands doing the work.

I felt incredibly privileged to be in the room, but I won’t lie: the responsibility was big. I was assigned to a few different models, and I wanted to give my absolute best.

Once the models were dressed, they rehearsed their walk on the store’s iconic staircase. It was such a surreal moment to witness everything come to life in that space.

One of the highlights for me was dressing Luma Vitoria, a Brazilian model I absolutely love. It was so special to be around her and support her during the show.

She wore two stunning looks from the collection, and being part of those transformations, making sure every detail was just right, was a moment of real pride for me.

The beauty of tree peonies inspired the Fall/Winter 2025 collection, and you could truly feel that softness and elegance throughout each look. There was a mix of delicate florals, rich textures, and embroidery that felt like pure art.

The color palette brought Autumn to life, with deep cedar, soft blue, and warm chrysanthemum tones, plus little surprises of bright citrine that made everything pop. One of my favorite details was the bold animal print that showed up in some of the outerwear, it added a fun edge to such graceful pieces.

You could see the brand’s signature craftsmanship in every look, from shimmering crystals and sequins to intricate floral appliqués that appeared to be blooming right on the fabric.

There was denim with flower details, coats with peony prints, velvet gowns, and even a mirror mosaic dress that sparkled like magic - pieces that make your jaw drop.

As soon as the show was over, I went straight to the train station to head back home. But as I walked out of the store, I paused for a moment.

Through the glass, I could still see the models in their looks, people chatting inside, and photographers capturing every detail of the event.

It felt like a dream—one I had just lived.

Some brands don’t just make clothes.
They create poetry.

Oscar de la Renta is one of them.
