Why Designers Can’t Stop Playing With Fringe

Fringe isn’t exactly new but right now it feels unstoppable. I started craving it back in early 2022 when I found a Banana Republic fringe skirt and I am still obsessed with it. Every time I wear it I remember why. Fringe doesn’t just sit there, it moves, it flirts, it makes the outfit come alive.

This season the runways across all the fashion capitals were swinging with it. And it came in so many different formats it was impossible not to notice. There were soft and delicate materials that gave pieces an airy feel. Strips of fabric that created playful motion. Strong leather that added power and edge. Pearls and jewelry arrangements that turned fringe into pure glam. And ultra thin strands that looked almost like fur, adding texture with every step.

Celebrities are into it as well. From red carpets to street style moments they are proving fringe can be glamorous, playful and completely irresistible all at once. That is the magic. It gives motion, light and attitude to whatever you are wearing.
